This is our interpretation of a Biedermeier style table, a design which spanned 1815 - 1845. Traditionally this style table is made of maple, cherry or walnut and we've chosen to contemporize it with more modern finish options.

Among others, we offer this table in a faux-Porphyry finish. Porphyry is known as the Marble of the Kings and is named after the ancient Greek word for purple and is one of, if not the, hardest known stone in antiquity. It was prized for monuments and buildings in Imperial Rome and thereafter and is identified by it's purple-red color with small white and black crystals. Our painter, Judy, replicates this beautiful stone by hand for this table lamp and for select coffee table tops.

Biedermeier Table can be used for dining or as a center table. The table top is 1" thick. Both the top and base are made of solid white oak or solid poplar when a painted finish is specified. For indoor use only. An RT Facts Design made by hand in our Kent, Connecticut workshop.

Solid Wood

Our woods are finished or sealed solid woods, not veneer. We truly believe our wood table tops get better with age as each scratch, scuff and ding builds patina and shapes the story the piece has to tell.

Hand Painted

Our team expertly hand paints right here in our Kent, CT workshop. Styles range from simple opaque color to exquisite faux finishing.
